Like any sane person would do when you see the ‘clone’ command in Parallels you think your problems are solved and its almost Mojito time. #FAIL. You start your newly cloned VM and its network card sits lifeless. It’s tube inexplicably tied. Fear not because the solution is simple!

Problem

Your Ubuntu machines MAC Address has changed so it can no longer properly initialize its network card.

Solution

Removing the file containing the conflicting MAC addresses will force the system to regenerate the file with the proper settings.

Before shutting your system down to be cloned, or in my case turned into a Template, simply run this command to delete the file.

On next boot your system will notice its absence, regenerate it, and your off to the races, or at least connected to your network again.

With over 130 podcasts available, Paul Boag (and company) cover a large variety of topics ideal for web professionals of all backgrounds and skill levels (from design, development, usability, accessibility to best practices and search engine optimization). Boagworld also features interviews from industry professionals and technology reviews.
• Webmaster Radio – You can stream audio from their website or subscribe to particular channels: advertising, Internet marketing, search engine optimization and conferences to name a few.
• The Web 2.0 Show – Hosted by Josh Owens and Adam Stacoviak, The Web 2.0 Show is an interview format podcast about emerging technologies.
• Rookie Designer Podcast – A design podcast for web professionals of all skill levels hosted Adam Hay.
• Web Axe – A web accessibility podcast hosted by Dennis Lembree and Ross Johnson covering accessibility guidelines, technology and  interviews with industry professionals.

For those new to podcasts, you’ll need a podcast receiver: Juice (I fancy this one), Primetime and Ziepod are good ones.
